In the rapidly evolving world of AI writing tools, Babbily has emerged as a formidable contender, challenging the dominance of ChatGPT. But chances are you have never heard of this amazing AI tool that can do much more than just generate text.

With its advanced features and user-friendly interface, Babbily promises to give ChatGPT a run for its money. In this review, I will dive into Babbily and what makes it a true competitor to ChatGPT.

What is Babbily?

Babbily is a versatile AI platform designed to make advanced AI technology accessible to everyone. It was developed in the US in 2023 and offers a range of features, including AI Chat, Image and PDF Analysis, Image Generation, Text-to-Speech, and Speech-to-Text.

It currently runs on OpenAI and Google Gemini, leveraging the value of two powerful AI models.

The first thing I noticed about Babbily was its no-frill, user-friendly interface, catering to both beginners and experts alike. If you have used ChatGPT and loved it, then Babbily won’t disappoint you either. I only wish the display area was as full-page as ChatGPT.

Features of Babbily

Babbily is packed with some great features that are sure to make heads turn. What truly sets it apart is its ability to function more than just a basic chatbot. Here are some of Babbily’s best features:

1. AI Chat:

Babbily’s AI Chat feature allows users to engage in natural, conversational interactions with the AI. It can answer questions, provide information, and assist with various tasks, making it a versatile tool for both personal and professional use.

All you have to do is type your question/query/prompt in the text area. Babbily will do the rest.

I asked the software to tell me something about itself. Babbily gave me a brief description and also told me about its recent update last year.

2. Image Generator:

The Image Generator feature in Babbily is a creative powerhouse. It allows users to generate high-quality images quickly, making it ideal for designers, marketers, and anyone looking to create engaging visuals. This feature brings your imagination to life with ease.

You have to provide a brief description and then select the art style. There is also an option for generating images of various sizes.

I tried creating an AI image for the following prompt: “A healthcare professional smiling at a patient.” After about two seconds, the AI model created an image.

I was quite impressed with the output. I went ahead and created a bunch of images with the same prompt but using different combinations of art styles and sizes.

The image generator is one of the best I have seen so far. Its accuracy is on point. For example, one of the art forms was “Anime” and as you can tell from the first sample, Babbily did a fantastic job.

3. Image Analysis:

Another feature that piqued my interest was the Image Analysis tools. This feature can identify, analyze, and categorize elements within images.

I decided to try it on the book jacket of my book, Seven Sunday.

The result:

“This image shows the cover of a book titled “SEVEN SUNDAYS” by Shouvik Banerjee. The tagline “ONE LIFE. TWO JOURNEYS. SEVEN FAILURES” suggests themes of life’s challenges and the journey toward overcoming them. The design of the cover features a floating island with a castle on top, conveying a sense of fantasy or magical realism, which fits with the mention of characters such as the Magician, Wizard, and Maiden in the book’s description.

The book blurb on the left side of the cover explains that “SEVEN SUNDAYS” chronicles the story of a 40-year-old man named Alok, who, despite all his efforts, finds himself in the worst scenario possible—his business venture fails, his wife and daughter leave him, and he is on top of a mountain of debt. Just when everything seems lost, an old acquaintance makes a return to his life and sets him on a profound change.

The left side of the image also includes a brief autobiographical note about the author, Shouvik Banerjee, mentioning his switch from a science background to writing after dealing with career failures and depression. This is stated to be his first book, and he also writes poetry, short stories, and songs. The cover design credit is given to Raghav Khattar.

The bottom left corner shows the logo of the publishing house, Hay House, and a barcode. The cover indicates a price of ₹399 and that the book also falls into the category of self-help/fiction. Additionally, the book’s availability on an electronic platform is mentioned, and the publisher’s website, www.hayhouse.co.in, is listed at the bottom right.

The overall presentation of the cover and detailed blurb suggest that “SEVEN SUNDAYS” aims to provide an emotive and potentially inspiring narrative that incorporates elements of fantasy to explore personal crises and the concept of failure.”

I liked the output. The Image Analyzer did a great job at identifying everything that was on the jacket. Since I hadn’t mentioned what I wanted, it covered everything. Fair enough.

4. Text to Speech

Babbily’s Text-to-Speech functionality seamlessly converts written words into natural speech. These tools are perfect for busy professionals, students, and those who prefer auditory learning or need efficient transcription.

The feature has two options – one for voice type and the other for voice quality. There are 4-5 types of voice including alloy, echo, and fable.

I used a sample from my book as the prompt:

“The grey-white smoke from my burning cigarette rose up passionately in the air and disappeared, scattering away into a million pieces, eerily reminding me of my own life, fine and smooth one moment and disordered the next. And in each of those broken pieces, I could read a single word—failure—printed as boldly and distinctly as a newspaper headline. Career, business, relationships or family, I had become an expert at failing and almost always when I did something, I knew it would end even before the remote possibility of success lingered on the horizon.

Five years back I quit my wonderfully steady job to start my own company in the hopes that one day I would become a successful entrepreneur. My ambition was strong, the time was right, the risks had been calculated and the business model was in place. I started, and I started well. Everything was fine until I was caught unaware of the collapse, and as it all fell apart, each broken piece drilled a huge hole into my entrepreneur dreams and left me dazed and demoralized. And try as I may, I could not stop my company from incurring losses—huge losses—until the day arrived when I had to finally close shop. But I fought, stood tall and kept my passion and dignity in place, because achieving success was a dream I didn’t want to give up so easily. I rose back on my feet and built a second company, but that too sank as soon as the ship embarked on its glorious journey. And when the third one collapsed, it painfully and dishearteningly dawned on me that maybe I wasn’t cut out to be a leader. Slowly, one by one, the wounds appeared on my battered self-respect and I ended up losing more than I bargained for.

Possibly the worst of them was when Sheela left. One fine morning she packed her bags, picked up little Nemo and left before I could even utter the word ‘wait’. And just like that my wife and daughter were gone in the blink of an eye. Between the opening and closing of the front door, my universe came crashing down upon me, the weight of it too hard to bear on my own. I’m not a weak man but I’m no Sheela.

She is what most modern women desire to be but are afraid of becoming. Strong, independent and beautiful are just some of the cliched words that describe her. She is much, much more. The Mozart of MS Excel, the Beethoven of company presentations and the Bach of client meetings, Sheela bull-dozes her way through appraisals and is no less than a wrecking ball when it comes to making deals. A force of nature, she storms her way in and out of office like she’s on a crusade. Being the daughter of an Air Force captain, she takes dedication to a whole new level. And rarely does she listen to the word ‘no’ unless it comes from her. Others climb corporate ladders; she uses a lift.”

Here are some outputs in different voice types:

Alloy

Echo

Fable

The output is excellent. This is a great feature for faceless YouTube videos where you don’t want to use your voice.

5. PDF Analysis:

The PDF Analysis function extracts text, data, and images from PDF files. These tools are invaluable for extracting and interpreting information from visual and document-based sources.

I uploaded my CV and asked the tool to summarize the contents for me. It returned a condensed version of my CV with only the important points highlighted from each section.

6. Easy Tools:

Babbily’s Easy Tools include pre-built prompts that make conversations smooth and effortless. Whether you’re stuck on what to say or want to enhance your chats, these ready-to-use prompts are designed to help you communicate more effectively.

For example, there is a prompt titled “Give me some ideas for a new app” which is great for marketing professionals. This feature makes Babbily a comprehensive and user-friendly AI platform, catering to a wide range of needs and enhancing productivity and creativity.

Comparison with ChatGPT

The best thing about ChatGPT is that it has a forever-free plan, which is great for most casual users like me. But Babbily takes a huge lead over ChatGPT in more or less all the other departments.

Below is a comparison table that should make it pretty clear why Babbily is a clear winner.

Overall, ChatGPT excels only in producing quick natural language output, whereas Babbily offers a more comprehensive set of tools at a competitive price, making it a strong competitor in the AI writing tool market.

Final Verdict

Babbily is a fantastic product. Not only can it produce accurate human-like text from prompts, but it can also generate images, analyze PDFs, and seamlessly turn text into speech. There are pre-made prompts that can save a ton of work.

However, you should note that Babbily is not perfect. At times, it delivers contextually wrong results. Because it lacks customization options, your only option is to make the prompt as detailed as possible. In 90% of the cases, though, Babbily is near-perfect, making it one of the best AI tools for students and professionals alike.
